Basic Blueprint Reading

LEARN THE NECESSARY SKILLS TO INTERPRET ENGINEERING DRAWINGS

Get acquainted with basic blueprint reading that will enhance communication among designers, shop and technical personnel. This course is excellent for beginners!

Topics include:

  • Lines and symbols
  • Orthographic Projection
  • One-view, two-view, and three-view drawings
  • Auxiliary views
  • Metric, decimal and angular dimensioning
  • Screw thread specification and representation

Prerequisite: Basic math skills

Instructor:
Roger Schultz, Technical Training Specialist
Schultz has nine years experience as a technical trainer as well as 25 years experience as a machinist, CNC machinist and team leader. He received his degree in mechanical engineering technology from Gannon University and has taught classes in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Mechanical Measurement.
