Former White House Press Secretary Tony Snow to Moderate Manufacturers’ Association 103rd Annual Event
ERIE – In a year that has seen conventional political predictions pushed aside, two former presidential candidates will offer their insider’s view of the race for the White House. John Edwards and Fred Thompson will be the featured speakers at the Manufacturers’ Association’s 103rd Annual Event Wednesday, June 18 at the Bayfront Convention Center.
Former White House press secretary Tony Snow will bring his unique experience and serve as the moderator of the event.
“It has been a truly unpredictable presidential race full of great storylines,” said Association Chairman Gerald B. Eighmy, president of American Turned Products. “Who better than John Edwards and Fred Thompson to offer our membership a unique glimpse into the campaign trail and the pulse of the American electorate?
“Add to that Tony Snow’s front line tour of political duty and incredible personal story and we have high expectations for another sell-out crowd for this year’s Annual Event,” continued Eighmy.
While in Congress, Edwards emerged as a champion of issues important to American families like quality healthcare, better schools and preserving the environment. Edwards was the 2004 Democratic vice presidential nominee, running unsuccessfully with presidential contender John Kerry. Prior to entering Congress, Edwards was a successful trial lawyer and is a highly respected public speaker.
Thompson emerged from his tenure in the Senate as a highly visible figure, speaking out on the important challenges facing America today. Aside from his political career, Thompson has carved out an acting niche with high profile roles in television’s Law and Order, and in movies including In the Line of Fire, Die Hard II and The Hunt for Red October.
Snow served as White House Press Secretary for President George W. Bush and was Director of Speechwriting and served in Media Affairs for President George H. W. Bush. He has worked for 25 years in the news business, most recently as the radio host of the nationally syndicated Tony Snow Show and a Fox News contributor.
