Wellness Programs
UPMC Health Plan has collaborated with leading experts at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) to develop MyHealth, an initiative designed to encourage healthy lifestyles. Through UPMC Health Plan’s Small Business Advantage small businesses now have access to a variety of wellness assessments and programs, including online tools, personalized health improvement programs, and discounts on physical fitness activities. The MyHealth program can help your employees stop smoking, increase physical activity, and eat a more balanced, nutritious diet by providing personalized programs, while the MyHealth Record lets them track and measure their health care status.

Smoking Cessation
UPMC Health Plan’s smoking cessation program uses a team approach to provide the most effective guidance for helping members quit smoking. Our experts include health educators, behavioral health specialists, respiratory therapists, dietitians, and exercise physiologists. Our program focuses on education, problem solving skills, social support, and stress management.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
EAP Solutions provides employers with a comprehensive program that enhances workplace productivity, health, and wellness. Through UPMC Health Plan’s Small Business Advantage, EAP Solutions provides members with 24/7 access to counselors skilled in services ranging from personal coaching and counseling to management consultation and training, crisis intervention, and workplace wellness.

Vision
UPMC Health Plan’s Small Business Advantage includes a discount vision network provided by Opticare. In place of this discount network, employers have the option to choose vision benefit coverage offered through our partnership with Vision Benefits of America.

Dedicated Account Management and Member Service Team
Easy administration and accessibility to UPMC Health Plan are key components of our service excellence. Answers to client questions are only a phone call away. From initial enrollment to renewal assistance, your designated account manager will work closely with you and your broker using a consultative approach to administer your account and resolve any issues that may occur.

A team of member service representatives specializing in addressing the unique needs of small businesses is available to assist you and your employees with questions. This team of representatives is available for your employees when they have specific questions regarding their benefits and coverage. It’s an approach that provides a familiar voice and a representative who knows your employees concerns and issues.

Health Management
Our health management programs, first introduced in 1999, serve members with chronic conditions such as respiratory problems, diabetes, low back pain, and heart disease. Our programs take into account not only medical conditions but also lifestyle factors that affect health status. By following recommended treatment guidelines for their illness, as well as changing behaviors that may contribute to poor health, members can significantly improve their health.

Assist America
Assist America, a unique global emergency services program, arranges for medical services and clears many of the obstacles caused by emergencies when members travel 100 miles or more away from home for less than 90 days. Assist America provides immediate connections to doctors, hospitals, pharmacies, and other services, including medical referrals, evacuations, repatriation, and more.

MyHealth Advice Line
UPMC Health Plan’s MyHealth Advice Line is available 24/7 to provide members with health care advice. When a member calls to discuss a specific health issue, experienced registered nurses are available to provide prompt and efficient service.

Online Tools
Online tools give members the resources to track their health, set goals, and achieve measurable results. Online resources for members include:

  • MyHealth Questionnaire – a health risk assessment tool that allows members to build a personal health profile and receive immediate feedback about their health status
  • MyHealth Record – a secure online collection of personal medical information that enables members to more effectively manage their health, coordinate their care, and communicate with their providers
  • Lifetime Exercise Adherence Program (LEAP) – a personalized survey of the user’s fitness level, a tailored activity plan, and a virtual personal trainer to help members log their activity and track their progress
  • Ready, Set Stop! – a smoking cessation program that blends behavior modification and clinical smoking research with input from actual smokers. This program guides users through the quitting process, offering practical suggestions that can help them make their next attempt to quit successful
  • MyHealth OnLine Condition Centers – more than 35 condition centers that offer personal health assessments in areas like asthma, cardiovascular disease, and women’s health. In each condition center, members can find detailed information on risk factors, treatment options, and more

Healthy Living Rewards
Healthy Living Rewards is our exclusive member discount program which includes more than 200 fitness centers in Pennsylvania and more than 14,000 nationally. Members are enrolled automatically and simply need to present their ID card to be eligible for discounts at:
