YES™ Certificate Program
Your Employability Skills Certificate Program ( YES™ ) begins in Erie
In collaboration with local school districts, employers and business organizations, the YES™ program is now available in northwestern Pennsylvania. The program is designed to help youth acquire the fundamental skills that employers regard as important to a well-trained work force. It addresses key concerns of the employers, while preparing applicants for quality employment opportunities and a pathway to a secure future.
YES™ was developed in York, Pennsylvania, by the York Operating Partnership and has a proven record of success at the high school level and in adult continuing education programs.
The YES™ program is a 120-hour course with rigorous certification requirements, which are taught in the senior year of high school.
Certificate Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate
- Tests of Adult Basic Education (TABE)
- Achieve a Reading and Math score equivalent to Grade Level 9.0
- Wonderlic Personnel Test (WPT)
- Achieve a score of 21 out of 50
- Completion of 120 hours of the YES Curriculum
- Topics include communications, teamwork, health and safety, personal development, technology, quality as well as plant/business tours.
- Successfully pass 6 Panel Drug Screening
- Thank you to Millcreek Community Hospital
- Demonstrated attendance of 95 percent or better
- (To documented guidelines for absenteeism and tardiness)
